Director of Product Management, Platform
Position Overview
The Director of Product Management, Platform is a hands-on technical product leader who owns the build-out of OUTFRONT’s platform capabilities across the fast-growing DOOH space. This is a player-coach role: you will lead a small, high-performing team of product managers while personally driving the most complex platform, API, and integration work.
You will set the platform roadmap, translate business needs into clear requirements, and partner closely with engineering to deliver scalable, well-integrated systems. Data is central to the job. You will define the metrics that show whether our platform capabilities are working, and use them to decide what to build, fix or retire next.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Strategy & Build-Out
Own the product strategy and roadmap for OUTFRONT’s platform capabilities, aligned to business goals and long-term company vision.
Lead the end-to-end build-out of platform capabilities, from ideation and requirements through launch and adoption.
Define the platform architecture direction with engineering, including service boundaries, data flows and system-to-system integrations.
Drive API product strategy, covering API design and lifecycle, micro-service architecture, and the integration patterns that connect internal systems and external partners.
Hands-On Product Execution (the “Player”)
Personally own the highest-complexity platform initiatives, writing requirements, specs and acceptance criteria and working in the details alongside engineering.
Initiate programs by aligning on scope, release plan, vision and business goals, and by securing cross-functional support.
Translate order management, billing, collections, revenue recognition and related workflows into clear, buildable product requirements.
Team Leadership (the “Coach”)
Lead, coach and develop a small team of product managers, setting clear goals, KPIs and expectations.
Establish and reinforce product management best practices, including intake, prioritization, documentation and release management.
Delegate deliberately: decide which initiatives you own personally and which you hand to the team, and keep the team’s work visible and accountable.
Data-Driven Decision Making
Define, instrument and track the metrics that show platform health, adoption and business impact.
Use data and analytics to prioritize the roadmap, evaluate trade-offs, monitor performance and iterate on capabilities.
Bring customer and internal user feedback together with usage data to refine the platform and retire what is not working.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with engineering, design, sales, marketing, finance, operations and research to align on priorities and deliver the roadmap.
Gather requirements from stakeholders across the company, and regularly present the product vision, roadmap, trade-offs and progress to executives, business leaders and external partners, adapting the message to each audience.
Develop service portfolios that support diagnostics, provisioning, operational workflows and troubleshooting across platform systems.
Continuously improve product development processes for efficiency, transparency and accountability.
Qualifications
15+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years leading teams and a track record of shipping technical platform products.
Proven experience as a player-coach: leading and mentoring a small product team while remaining hands-on with requirements, specs and delivery.
Strong technical depth, with the ability to work credibly with engineers on system design, data models and trade-offs.
