Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) Specialist to join our newly developing ECMO program at UT Health Tyler. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in managing veno-venous (V-V), venoarterial (V-A) ECMO, Extracorporeal Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (ECPR), and ECMO transport.
Responsibilities The ECMO Specialist functions independently following standing ECMO orders and parameters while under the direction of the ECMO Physician and ECMO APP. This role involves providing expert care to critically ill patients, ensuring optimal functioning of the ECMO circuit, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements To be considered for this position, you should have:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required;
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an ECMO specialist in a critical care setting;
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required;
Succesful completion of an accredited school of respiratory therapy and have sucessfully completed the registry exammination for advanced level practitioners and be recognized as a Registered Respiratiry Therapist(RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care(NRBC).
Preferred Qualifications Certified ECMO Specialist - Adult (CES-A) certification is a plus.
Compensation The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 per year, based on national averages for ECMO specialists in Texas. Benefits include a competitive salary, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
