Position Summary
Reporting to the Tool Room Supervisor, the Tool & Die Maker is responsible for constructing, assembling, modifying, repairing, setting up, and troubleshooting a wide variety of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges to tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, assemble, modify, maintain, and repair tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges to precise tolerances and fits.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, engineering drawings, models, specifications, and verbal instructions.
- Plan and lay out work using appropriate machining and tooling methods.
- Select the proper materials, tools, equipment, and processes for tooling construction and repair.
- Perform shop calculations and make necessary machining and tooling adjustments.
- Set up and operate a variety of machine tools and related equipment.
- Use hand tools and precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
