About the Role
Our client seeks a proactive and organized Logistics Coordinator to support fleet management operations in Chicago . This role is vital for optimizing transportation schedules, managing driver assignments, and ensuring the efficient movement of goods. You will work closely with dispatchers, drivers, and warehouse staff to streamline operations and resolve logistical challenges. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule daily routes for a fleet of commercial vehicles in the Chicago area.
- Monitor driver activities and ensure adherence to delivery schedules and routes using tracking software.
- Communicate with drivers to provide updates, address issues, and ensure safe operational practices.
- Manage vehicle maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and fleet performance metrics.
- Collaborate with warehouse and sales teams to ensure smooth coordination of inbound and outbound logistics.
Requirements
- Proven experience in logistics coordination , dispatch, or fleet management.
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations and best practices.
- Proficiency with logistics software and fleet management systems .
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
