Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer SharkNinja is looking for a highly motivated Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer to join Ninja's Coffee R&D Engineering team. The R&D team is responsible for the "how it works" and performance of our products. This includes front-end innovation of new technologies, integrating them into new products, and working with a cross-functional team to iterate through the entire product development process up to mass production. This role is primarily an individual contributor role leading R&D work on multiple projects and doing hands-on engineering work in the lab every day, but part of the role will also be mentoring the other engineers and Co-Ops on the team. We seek a creative problem solver who possesses a deep, intuitive grasp of physics and engineering fundamentals, is equally comfortable hacking together a prototype in the lab or working through theories on a whiteboard, and is passionate about solving tough engineering challenges. They build and modify prototypes, create and execute test plans, analyze data, and develop theories that may be referenced in product development here for years to come - or overturned with tomorrow's test results as they build an even deeper understanding of how things work. This is not a CAD focused role, but you will drive the design of the product through participation in design reviews and close collaboration with other teams. A successful candidate must be able to think like both a scientist and an engineer and must understand better than anyone else how things function and what levers to pull to make them work better. We also seek a leader who will oversee the technical performance workstreams on one or more projects. They will work with the cross-functional product development team to be the voice of what's possible from the technology, and they will help steer the project direction while always challenging themselves and their teams to push the limits of product performance. A successful candidate must be able to think both big picture and get into the details on a daily basis, and they must be prepared to balance being a deep technical expert while working, thinking, and leading cross-functionally.
