Position Overview:
Salt & Stone is looking to add a Head of PMO, a Director-level role, to build and run the timeline discipline that connects our product development, packaging, regulatory, operations, and commercialization work into one coordinated system. This is a role for someone who is equally comfortable in the weeds of an Asana timeline and in the room shaping how a growing organization plans, sequences, and delivers its launches, and who is ready to manage a direct report. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience managing complex, multi-workstream timelines in a beauty or personal care environment, a track record of building project management process and infrastructure rather than simply operating within it, prior experience managing people, and the credibility and communication skill to align Product Development, Packaging, Operations, Commercialization, Marketing, and external manufacturing and fragrance partners around a single source of truth for launch timing.
Reporting to the SVP, Product, the Head of PMO will serve as the functional lead for project management at Salt & Stone, with one direct report, the Commercialization Director. This person will own critical path timelines end to end across the product portfolio, hold real decision rights on sequencing trade-offs across workstreams, partner daily with cross-functional teams to keep launches, reformulations, and tech transfers on schedule, and stand up the rituals, tools, and governance that give the broader team real visibility into what is on track, what is at risk, and what needs a decision.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Own the master critical path across all active development projects, translating formula, packaging, regulatory, and manufacturing milestones into a single, living timeline for the business.
- Build and maintain detailed project plans, launch calendars, resourcing views, and project-level spend tracking for new product development, line extensions, reformulations, and tech transfers, flagging sequencing conflicts or cost trends before they become launch risk. This hands-on ownership of the timeline remains a core, ongoing part of the role.
- Design, launch, and run monthly Critical Path Review, a cross-functional forum that brings Product Development, Packaging, Regulatory, Operations, Commercialization, and Marketing together to walk the portfolio timeline, surface risks, and align on trade-offs and decisions.
- Identify bottlenecks and delays early, and act as the primary escalation point and hold final recommendation when a timeline is at risk, bringing the right people together quickly to drive mitigation plans and decisions rather than letting a delay sit unaddressed.
- Own and continuously refine artwork change governance, project intake, and registration sequencing in partnership with Regulatory, Packaging Development, and Commercialization.
- Communicate timeline status, risks, budget and spend against plan, and decisions to the SVP, Product and other leadership stakeholders, including building the reporting and dashboards that give an accurate, real-time read on portfolio health and launch readiness without requiring a status meeting.
- Serve as the functional lead for project management at Salt & Stone and the primary point of cross-functional coordination across Product Development, Packaging Development, Regulatory, Operations, Commercialization, Marketing, and external manufacturing and fragrance partners, setting the
