Nursing Director – Surgical ServicesLocation: Bartlett, TNEmployment Type: Full-Time | ExemptSchedule: Monday–Friday | Director-level role with 24/7 departmental responsibilitySalary Range: $130,000–$155,000 annually (based on experience)Individual compensation is determined based on qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors.Position OverviewWheeler Staffing Partners is recruiting for a Nursing Director – Surgical Services to lead and support both Operating Room (OR) and Cardiovascular Services within an acute care hospital environment. This leadership role partners closely with senior nursing leadership to ensure high-quality, safe, and effective patient care across multiple units.The Nursing Director assumes 24/7 accountability for assigned departments and plays a critical role in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice while ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic and operational leadership for Surgical Services, including the Operating Room and Cardiovascular ServicesSupport senior nursing leadership in overseeing patient care delivery and clinical outcomesEnsure high standards of nursing practice, patient safety, and quality careLead, mentor, and develop clinical leadership and nursing staffPromote staff competency, professional development, and engagementManage staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation effectivelyServe as a role model and advocate for professional nursing practiceCollaborate across departments to support hospital-wide initiativesPerform additional duties as assignedRequired QualificationsEducationAssociate degree from an accredited nursing program and a bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field orBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)Licensure & CertificationsActive and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in TennesseeRelocation candidates must be willing to obtain Tennessee RN licensureBLS certification (required upon hire)ACLS certification (required within 3 months of hire for applicable nursing areas)Additional certifications (CPI, PALS, NRP) required within 3 months of hire based on assigned departmentsExperienceAcute care hospital nursing experience requiredOperating Room experience requiredMinimum of 2 years of progressive leadership or management experience in a hospital setting (manager, charge nurse, or similar role)Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in NursingCardiovascular Services and/or Cardiac Cath Lab experienceWhy Work With Wheeler Staffing PartnersWheeler Staffing Partners connects experienced healthcare leaders with impactful opportunities nationwide.
