About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Lead Process Safety Engineer to manage and enhance process safety initiatives on a remote basis. This senior role is critical for ensuring the highest standards of safety across all engineering projects and operations. You will lead risk assessments, develop safety protocols, and provide expert guidance to engineering teams worldwide. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate process hazard analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive process safety management (PSM) systems.
- Provide expert guidance on process safety principles, regulations (e.g., OSHA PSM), and industry best practices.
- Conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses for safety-related events.
- Develop and deliver process safety training programs to engineering and operations personnel.
- Stay abreast of evolving safety regulations and technologies, recommending appropriate updates.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related safety-focused discipline.
- 10+ years of experience dedicated to process safety engineering in the chemical or petrochemical industry.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and other relevant safety regulations.
- Proven experience leading PHA studies and implementing recommendations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills for effective remote collaboration.
