Job Summary The Cardiovascular Imaging Specialist at Norman Regional Health System plays a vital role in our innovative cardiovascular program, providing exceptional patient care during catheterization procedures. As a skilled professional, you will be responsible for preparing equipment, establishing and maintaining a sterile environment, and serving as a preceptor for new staff, fostering strong communication with cardiologists and leadership.
Responsibilities: Equipment Preparation: Ensure all necessary equipment is prepared before and during procedures to guarantee seamless operations.
Patient Care: Identify and assess patient conditions, provide personalized care, and ensure patients are comfortable throughout the process.
Sterile Environment: Establish and maintain a sterile environment to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
Preceptorship: Serve as a mentor for new hires and radiology students, participating in their orientation and training.
Communication: Foster strong working relationships with physicians and leadership to deliver exceptional patient care.
Qualifications: To succeed in this role, you must possess relevant certifications in Radiologic Technology and complete necessary training within 6 months of hire. Additionally, completing Cath Lab RT Orientation and all competencies listed in department policy within 6 months is required. Previous procedural area experience is preferred but not necessary.
Education and Experience: A minimum of a 24-month formal program or military program in Radiologic Technology is required. The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) eligibility and/or current RCIS certification is also mandatory. Basic Life Support (BLS) training is required during orientation, and ACLS training must be achieved within 6 months of hire.
Compensation and Benefits: This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $27.84-$45.46 based on previous work experience.
