The RN Clinical Access Manager will report directly to the Director of Patient Care Services. This role involves collaboration with various departments, including nursing, admissions, and medical staff, to ensure seamless patient access and optimal utilization of hospital resources.

The Clinical Access Department at San Juan Regional Medical Center plays a crucial role in managing patient admissions, transfers, and discharges. The team is responsible for coordinating patient flow, optimizing bed utilization, and ensuring timely and efficient access to care for all patients.

Job Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of patient access and flow within the hospital, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Lead and mentor a team of access coordinators and nursing staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to streamline patient access processes and improve patient experience.
  • Monitor and analyze patient flow metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to optimize bed utilization and reduce wait times.
  • Coordinate with clinical and administrative departments to ensure effective communication and collaboration regarding patient access and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies related to patient admissions and transfers.
  • Manage the daily operations of the Clinical Access Department, including staffing, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Participate in hospital-wide initiatives and committees focused on improving patient access and care coordination.
  • Provide training and support to staff on best practices for patient access and flow management.
