VR Tester

This position is responsible for the testing of VR gaming systems and Portal devices. Position is a combination of sitting and standing. Testers will be expected to move frequently and may need to rotate temporarily to other positions to prevent eye strain. The ability to navigate a web-based shop floor system is required. The ability to plug a device into the tester via a USB connection is required. Portions of the test occur while the devices are connected to the tester. During this portion the tester may be called upon to manage 8-16 devices at a single time. The customer experience portion of the test requires the Technician to interact directly with the devices as an end user. In the case of VR testing, this means wearing a VR headset while holding two VR controllers and playing a short game for 5-10 minutes at a time. Successful technicians who conduct the Customer Experience portion of the test can produce minimum of good 6 headsets or 12 good controllers per hour. It should be well understood that while the test is more fun than most consumer electronic testing positions, it is also a production-based job with targets to achieve. The game is repetitive in nature. Gameplay requires a fair degree of hand eye coordination and overall manual dexterity, as VR testing is more immersive in nature than other types of consumer electronics testing.
