Job DescriptionJob Description

Constellation West is looking for a Software Developer to develop, create, and modify general computer applications software and specialized utility programs. The ideal candidate must have the ability to analyze user needs and develop software solutions, design software, and customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. The candidate must also have the ability to analyze and design databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyze and refine software requirements.
• Develop design solutions to address software requirements.
• Implement design solutions as production-quality executable code.
• Test new and modified executable code.
• Maintain legacy software.
• Produce software artifacts such as peer reviews, deliverable documentation, and briefings.
• Develop tools to aid Program activities.
• Comply with Organizational and Program policies and procedures.
• Provide on-site Customer support, as needed.
• Participate in peer reviews, weekly status meetings, Customer coordination meetings and meetings with other external Program stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

• BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• Java Development
• Software version control and team collaboration tools
• Software testing tools
• Microsoft Office Professional

Security Clearance: All candidates must have an active secret security clearance.

Project Background:

Advana is the Department of Defense (DoD) Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office’s (CDAO) enterprise-wide, multi-domain data, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) platform that provides all DoD military and civilian decision makers, analysts, and builders with enterprise data, tools, and capabilities—all in a scalable, reliable, and secure environment. Jointly managed by the DoD CDAO Mission Analytics and Enterprise Platforms and Services Directorates, the mission of Advana is to accelerate decision advantage by making data, analytics, and AI widely accessible, understandable, and actionable across DoD. To do this, the Advana platform hosts curated analytics applications in a total of 13 DoD business domains, including logistics, people and health, intelligence and security, readiness and global force management, etc.; it provides market-leading, self-service tools to perform data exploration, model development, data visualization, and other analysis activities; and it provides both users and builders on-demand data, analytics, and AI capabilities via a DoD-wide platform.

Note: This opportunity is contingent upon the awarding of a bid. The tentative start date for this project is December 1, 2024
