TRL Systems, Inc - Celebrating over 40 Years as Southern California Leaders in Fire Life Safety & Security Integration
Join a leading team in the industry as a Testing Technician for our Orange County division. You will be testing fire life safety devices such as: annunciators, batteries of smoke detectors, heat detectors, horn and speaker strobes, etc. You will be testing wet, dry, and pre-action systems. You will do quarterly, semi-annual, annual, and 5-year inspections.

Essential Functions:

  • Inspect and test batteries.
  • Test all central control equipment including annunciators, initiating devices, and alarm notification devices.
  • Test smoke detectors.
  • Update in company CRM.
  • Accurately communicate device testing status, device name changes, location changes to ensure accurate testing documentation.
  • Adheres to all workplace safety expectations, regulations, standards and practices.
  • Use hand tools and power tools needed to complete the testing of fire life safety systems.

Position Requirements:

  • 1+ years’ experience in fire life safety testing
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Valid California Driver License, and proof of auto insurance.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance

TRL Systems, Inc. conducts pre-employment drug screening in accordance with Federal Contractor regulations and background checks in accordance with State and local regulations. In addition to having many clients (hospitals, schools, etc.) who require background checks, as a federal contractor TRL is also required to complete a background check for any employee who may work on a federal contract in any capacity. For any position that drives a Company vehicle, our insurance carrier requires criteria to be met and therefore will be a condition of employment.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Ability to drive for 2+ hours in a work shift/day, daily.
  • Ability to walk, bend, stoop, hear, and speak, daily.
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, under all temperature variations.
  • Work environment may be construction sites, commercial buildings, and high-rise buildings,
  • Ascend/Descend and work at heights above 6ft and extreme heights, occasionally
  • Move/Transport/Install/Remove items weighing 20+ pounds, daily
  • Pushing/Pulling using upper extremities, daily
  • Position self to work in confined spaces, occasionally
