Job Summary:

The Direct-to-Consumer Forecasting & Planning Analyst contributes to the overall success of the organization by analyzing Burpee and Amazon plant, seed, and general merchandise products. This role provides data-driven recommendations to maximize sales and profitability. This Analyst will develop forecasts, analyze sales programs, optimize inventory management, and ensure accurate reporting to support strategic decision-making and sales growth.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop and share sales forecasts and updates for products, ensuring timely and accurate information is provided to stakeholders.
  • Recommend inventory actions, including procurement, replenishment, packaging, and adjustments based on sales zones.
  • Analyze product profitability and provide strategic recommendations for sales initiatives.
  • Collaborate on sales revenue and expense budgets.
  • Communicate complex data clearly to all organizational levels, including leadership.
  • Provide insights into customer demographics, purchase behaviors, and trends.
  • Analyze sales trends, customer retention, and basket composition over time.
  • Serve as a Power BI expert, maintaining and improving reporting and dashboard capabilities.
  • Monitor product performance and highlight risks related to overstock or stockouts.
  • Support product selection, budgeting, and channel investment decisions.
  • Partner with marketing and CRM teams to understand customer behavior and develop forecasts to drive growth.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of experience or proven expertise in ecommerce forecasting & analytics role, utilizing strategic thinking in data analysis, demand forecasting and assortment architecture.
  • Experience with forecasting algorithms and statistical models to deliver improved forecast accuracy.
  • In-depth understanding of marketing databases, including customer files, demographics, and transactional data.
  • Proficiency in SQL is preferred, with strong expertise in Excel and other reporting and analytics platforms.
  • Experience with business intelligence dashboarding (e.g., Power BI).
  • Proven ability to work cross-departmentally, ensuring alignment and success in multiple areas.
  • Experience in a CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) environment with a high volume of SKUs.
  • Technical aptitude with advanced Excel skills. Experience in SQL and visual dashboard tools.
  • Understanding of sales performance across marketing channels and experience with Google Analytics and Amplitude or comparable tools.
