Our client, a dominate player in the Specialty Food Distribution space, is seeking a dynamic individual to join their team as Product Development Manager-CPG/Foodservice.

The Product Development Manager is responsible for concept development, market research, and project management from conception through launch of the product. The position is located in Seattle, WA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Concept Development:

· Generate innovative product ideas and concepts that align with business objectives, brand strategy, and customer preferences

· Defining product vision and strategy in alignment with business objectives and market trends

· Implementing agile methodologies and best practices to enhance product development processes

Market Research:

· Conducting market research to identify customer needs, product opportunities, identify trends, and competitive landscape to inform product development

Documentation:

· Overseeing the sourcing, validation, and market testing phases to ensure product specifications are met

· Maintain comprehensive records of product development processes

Collaboration:

· Leading and coordinating cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle

· Collaborating with, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to optimize product quality and availability

· Working with marketing and sales teams to develop go to-market strategies and product positioning

Regulatory Compliance:

· Ensure all products meet food safety regulations and labeling requirements

· Product testing-Coordinate and conduct sensory evaluations, consumer testing, and product demonstrations to gather feedback and refine products

Qualifications and Requirements:

· 3+ years Product Development/Launch in the Retail food space required

· 3+ years food sourcing/procurement required

· Bachelor’s Degree

· Culinary product development a plus

· Strong understanding of food trends, culinary techniques, and product formulation

· Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with product development software is a plus

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams is a must

· 25% travel

· Candidate must reside in the Greater Seattle area
