Framing Carpenter Job Summary
We are seeking skilled and reliable Framing Crew Members to join our construction team. As part of the framing crew, you will be responsible for the structural framework of residential and commercial buildings. Your work will include setting up the skeleton of the building, including walls, floors, roofs, and other structural elements, according to blueprints and specifications. You will be expected to work as part of a team to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards.
Framing Carpenter Responsibilities
- Build and assemble the framework of residential and commercial structures, including walls, floors, roofs, and headers, using wood, metal, and other materials as specified in blueprints.
- Measure and cut materials accurately to ensure proper fit and alignment. Follow project blueprints and plans to determine the dimensions of the structure.
- Load and unload framing materials, ensuring they are stored properly on-site and used efficiently.
- Operate and maintain power tools, saws, drills, and other framing equipment in a safe and effective manner.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including wearing proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and maintaining a clean and organized job site.
- Work alongside other crew members, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth workflow and clear communication.
- Inspect framing for accuracy and structural integrity. Ensure that all work is performed according to specifications, and make necessary adjustments as required.
- Address minor issues that may arise during the framing process and propose practical solutions.
- Keep the worksite tidy, removing debris, excess materials, and other hazards to maintain a safe work environment.
- Proven experience as a Framing Carpenter or in a similar construction role.
- Strong understanding of construction principles, blueprints, and building codes.
- Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, and framing equipment, with a focus on safety and precision.
- Ability to measure, cut, and assemble materials accurately and efficiently.
- Commitment to safety, including adhering to regulations and wearing appropriate PPE on the job site.
- Basic knowledge of material handling and inventory management for on-site resources.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in carpentry is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required depending on job location.
