We are seeking an exceptional an experienced Tax Accountant with great attitude to join the J&L Tax family. This is a fulltime position.

Duties will include:

· Preparing business and individual tax returns and supporting work papers for various US Federal, State, and Local Jurisdictions

· Preparing State Sales and Use Tax returns for business clients

· Preparing weekly/monthly payroll & forms 1099, 941, 940, w-2, w-3

· Actively leading or participating in client discussions and meetings

· Researching and maintaining excellent knowledge of tax regulations

· Monthly client bank reconciliations in QuickBooks

· Additional accounting responsibilities and project work, as needed

 

Preferred Qualifications:

· Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred from an accredited college.

· Enrolled Agent or CPA license (Preferred)

· 2+ years of work experience handling business, individual, estate and non-profit taxes

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Proficient in reviewing accounting records typically in QuickBooks Online and making appropriate adjustments

· Strong attention to detail, deadlines and accuracy

· Ability to multi-task and work with a high volume of returns

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines

· Proficient with QuickBooks, ProSeries and Excel software is beneficial

· Available to work 45+ hours a week, evenings and weekends during tax season from January to April

· Desired to learn and grow professionally on your area of expertise

 

Hours and Compensation:

· Schedule 35- 40 hours per week

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Starting salary is determined at the time of the job interview based on experience and skills. Benefits include generous paid time off and paid holidays
