Content Architect

Detroit, United States Lettuce Digital Full time
Job DescriptionJob Description

Hello there.

The Lettuce Agency is on the hunt for a visionary wordsmith with a knack for research and strategy. We call that role the Content Architect—someone who can own the content creation process across all platforms and media channels. Someone ready to shape the future of our clients’ brands with copy that captivates and strategies that convert. This isn’t just about writing catchy headlines; it’s about building ecosystems of content across websites, emails, blogs, and beyond. You’ll be the mastermind behind it all, driving creative direction while ensuring every piece serves a bigger purpose.

And you won’t do it blind. You’ll dig into data—keywords, buyer insights, audience behavior—to make sure every word you write lands exactly where it needs to. You’ll compile these insights into detailed brand reports, equipping our clients with the tools to understand their audience and stand out in the market. Collaborate, innovate, and own your role.

We are not your typical digital marketing agency. We're a lean, high-impact startup disrupting the digital marketing space with bold strategies, technical prowess, and unmatched dedication to our clients. As such, this is not your typical "just write some blogs" gig. You’ll be the Architect of our clients’ voices, responsible for crafting compelling copy for websites, landing pages, emails, posts, articles, and beyond. You’ll collaborate closely with design and project management teams to ensure every piece of content aligns with client goals and exceeds expectations.

Our ideal candidate is someone who can step into this role like a pro, with minimal hand-holding & full ownership. If you’re the type to raise the bar (not wait for it), read on.

What You’ll Do:

  • Craft Multi-Channel Copy: Write engaging, brand-aligned content for websites, emails, blogs, social posts, landing pages, and everything in between.
  • Research, Research, Research: Conduct and interpret research—including keyword data, buyer personas, and audience insights—to inform and elevate content.
  • Build Brand Reports: Compile profiles and reports that articulate a brand’s voice, tone, target audience, and competitive landscape, based on your research and insights.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with the Design and Project Management teams to ensure content fits seamlessly into broader client strategies.
  • Take Ownership: Manage your workload and deadlines with minimal supervision, proactively solving problems and ensuring the quality of all deliverables.
  • Understanding Current & Future Trends: Keep up with content marketing best practices, emerging trends, and platform updates to keep our work ahead of the curve. Knowledge of common AI tools, terms, and interfaces is a plus—as long as you have a vision or idea of where we're headed next.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Exceptional Writing Skills: You can write clean, compelling, and creative copy that speaks to diverse audiences across platforms.
  • Strategic Thinker: You understand the “why” behind content and can align your work to broader marketing goals.
  • Research Pro: Whether it’s SEO keyword analysis, competitive research, or studying buyer data, you’re adept at diving deep and translating insights into action.
  • Detail-Oriented: Typos? Inconsistent tone? Not on your watch. You’re meticulous and proud of it.
  • Self-Driven: You don’t need someone checking in every five minutes. You own your work, from brainstorming to delivery.
  • Team Player: While you thrive independently, you’re great at collaborating with designers, managers, and clients to bring ideas to life.
  • Adaptability: You can adjust your voice and tone to match a wide range of industries, brands, and audience needs.

Why Join Lettuce?

  • High Impact: Your work will directly shape our clients’ success and define our growing agency’s reputation.
  • Creative Freedom: We trust you to innovate, experiment, and deliver your best work. We've set up systems, workflows, and resources for you to be able to do this with minimal oversight.
  • Flexible Work Environment: Work remotely, manage your schedule, talk smack to the founder [seriously, he prefers people who are direct and present good ideas You don't have to be nice] and enjoy a HEALTHY work-life balance. We're work hard, play hard people — and we hope you are, too.
  • Professional Growth: This role is designed for growth. Salary increases commensurate with performance, and significant raises are offered every 3-5 new clients we attain.
  • Be Part of Something With Vision: We’re redefining digital marketing for small businesses, yes—but our larger goals are to help declutter the internet, offer value to consumers, connect people to products/services, and build and shape communities.
