Position Summary:
As a Framer, you will play a key role in the construction of patios, porches, and room additions from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have experience framing residential structures, with a strong understanding of building codes, materials, and safety procedures. You will work closely with other team members to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Framing: Construct and install wood and steel framing for patios, porches, and room additions, including walls, floors, rafters, and trusses.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans to ensure accuracy in framing and construction.
- Measurement & Layout: Measure and mark materials accurately according to project specifications, ensuring precise cuts and alignments.
- Material Handling: Safely handle and transport framing materials, such as lumber, steel, and other construction materials.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other trades (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc.) to ensure smooth workflow and efficient project completion.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
- Quality Control: Inspect framing work to ensure it meets both building codes and company quality standards.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve framing issues on-site, with a focus on efficiency and quality.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3+ years of framing experience in residential construction (experience with patios, porches, and room additions is a plus).
- Knowledge: Proficient in reading and interpreting construction blueprints, building codes, and framing techniques.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of framing materials, tools, and construction techniques.
- Tools: Familiar with using hand and power tools, including saws, drills, and nail guns.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials, work in various weather conditions, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and ability to complete work to exact specifications.
- Team Player: Ability to work well with others, take direction, and collaborate to achieve project goals.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
