Kenwood Investments LLC is seeking a detailed oriented, organized, and dedicated Archivist to oversee the administration and management of a diverse collection of artifacts, antiques, digital assets, and art pieces. This part-time, hybrid position involves cataloging, preserving, and curating items to maintain the integrity of both digital and physical collections. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in archival management, a keen eye for detail, and familiarity with digital archiving systems, ensuring our collections are expertly preserved and easily accessible for future use.
Responsibilities:
• Catalog, organize, and maintain physical and digital collections, including artifacts, antiques, art pieces, and digital media.
• Implement preservation techniques to maintain the quality and longevity of items, ensuring the integrity of sensitive materials.
• Utilize digital archiving systems for cataloging, storing, and managing digital assets. Ensure all digital files are secure, accessible, and properly tagged.
• Develop and maintain accurate records and metadata for each item within the collection to facilitate easy retrieval and research.
• Occasionally work on-site to assess and oversee the condition and storage of physical collections, updating the inventory and ensuring items are safely housed.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company archival standards and practices.
• Support research efforts by providing organized access to the collection. Curate items for exhibitions or presentations when necessary.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Archival Studies, Library Science, History, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in archival or collections management, preferably with a focus on antiques, art, or digital assets.
• Proficiency in using digital archiving software and tools, with strong computer and data management skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, with high attention to detail.
• Familiarity with best practices in preservation, conservation, and metadata standards
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, with strong problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certification in Archival Studies or Records Management (such as Certified Archivist designation).
Work Schedule:
• Part-time, approximately 24 - 30 hours per week.
