We are currently seeking a skilled and hard-working Journeyman Plumber to join our growing team.
Job Summary: As a Journeyman Plumber at Will's Plumbing and Heating, you will be responsible for assisting our clients with their plumbing and drainage issues. This includes but is not limited to locating and repairing leaks, blockages, and corrosions, as well as installing and repairing fixtures, pipe fittings, and piping systems. You will work directly with clients, ensuring a high level of professionalism and customer service, and adhere to all health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems as per specifications and plumbing codes.
Identify sources of plumbing malfunctions and perform repairs as indicated or based on work orders.
Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures.
Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, commodes, water heaters, and water softeners.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems.
Plan, install, and service plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment, and controls; test systems and fixtures for leaks.
Repair dishwashers and kitchen equipment involving gas or water consumption.
Receive and complete work orders; select material and hardware, and make time and materials estimates.
Maintain accurate records of materials and labor used.
Keep inventory of tools, equipment, and materials.
Inspect job sites upon completion to ensure cleanliness and quality of work.
Collaborate with building principals and supervisors to complete projects.
Detect and address needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment.
Respond to emergency calls as required.
Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure safe operation.
Stay updated on plumbing codes, installation requirements, and relevant legislation.
Assist in training apprentices and junior plumbers to develop their skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
Valid Journeyman Plumber license.
Proven experience as a journeyman plumber.
Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Physical stamina and dexterity.
