Job DescriptionJob Description

-Must be proficient in CAD CAM software and able to create programs for CNC Swiss Screw machines and CNC Lathe machines. Part Maker and Cam Works preferred. Minimum three years experience.

-Able to study blueprints to visualize machining to be done, dimension of parts and permissible tolerances. Plans sequence programming of operations.

-May select cutting speeds, feed rates, depth of cut and cutting tools to be used.

-Must be proficient in programming, setting up, and operating one or more CNC Swiss Lathes/CNC Lathes equipped with an automatic bar feeding and tool-indexing mechanisms allowing for turning, boring, threading and facing etc. operations on barstock on a custom basis, analyzing and deciding on programing and tooling.

-May install collets, tools, and stock pushers in barfeeder.

-Installs program to control tool movement.

-Positions and secures tools in holders, verifying position with program and adjusts offsets. Verifies conformance of first-run and sample work piece to specifications, using such instruments as plug and ring gages, calipers, and micrometers.

-Replaces worn tools and inserts.

-May instruct other workers.

-May operate bench grinder or cutter grinder to sharpen tools.

-May be required to have experience with materials or machines of particular size, type or trade name.

-May use statistical process control techniques.

Schedule:

 

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Programing and Machining: 3 years (Preferred)
