JOB TYPE: Contract to Direct

JOB LOCATION: Onsite in Huntsville (with some hybrid availability)

JOB PAY: $52.58/hr

Position Description:

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support our Combat Mission Systems business focused on ground combat vehicles. This role involves close collaboration with electronics suppliers to provide electrical engineering support for the manufacture of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA)/circuit card assemblies (CCA) and associated system Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) enclosures for one of our combat vehicle systems.

Location:

  • Primary: Huntsville, Alabama, USA (co-located with suppliers)
  • Travel: Approximately 10% or less, to other BAE Systems or supplier facilities as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high production quality at the supplier location
  • Resolve supplier quality and manufacturing process concerns
  • Conduct defect investigations and analyze defect trends for continuous improvement
  • Communicate effectively to align suppliers with requirements and expectations, and report findings
  • Support problem-solving and root-cause analysis activities with suppliers
  • Evaluate the impact of nonconforming products and assess suppliers' corrective actions
  • Assist suppliers with process improvements to resolve manufacturing process concerns
  • Promote a "Zero Defect" mindset within the supply base
  • Participate in Technical Interchange Meetings within the Integrated Product Team

Skills Required:

  • Practical problem-solving skills using structured methods and systems
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and assess compliance
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and relevant industry software
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills

Skills Preferred:

  • PCBA/CCA design experience for aerospace or defense industries
  • Knowledge of standards such as MIL-PRF-31032, MIL-PRF-55110, IPC-A-610, and IPC-A-620
  • Familiarity with fabrication processes, testing, and instrumentation common in Aerospace and Defense
  • Experience in production line validation and equipment qualification
  • Knowledge of AS9100 Quality System, AS9102C First Article, AS9145 APQP/PPAP, and Source Inspection
  • Experience with low voltage (28Vdc) and/or high voltage (610Vdc) power distribution and management
  • Familiarity with servo amplifier design, manufacturing, and testing
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC design and qualification
  • Familiarity with IPC-6012, IPC-6013, IPC-6018, MIL-STD-883, MIL-PRF-38534, and ASME Y14.5

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a relevant function and industry
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-600 and IPC J-STD-001 standards
  • Exposure to Failure Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective/Preventative Actions

Experience Preferred:

  • Experience in PCBA/CCA design for aerospace or defense industries
  • Familiarity with fabrication processes, testing, and instrumentation in Aerospace and Defense
  • Exposure to ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Systems, AS9102B First Article, or similar industry standards
  • Experience with low voltage (28Vdc) and/or high voltage (610Vdc) power management
  • Experience with servo amplifier design, manufacturing, and testing

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field

Education Preferred:

  • Certification to IPC-A-600
