The firm also has satellite and/or project offices in Atlanta, Gainesville, Jupiter, Port St. Lucie, Sarasota, and Tampa. CMA is hiring an entry level or early career Electrical Engineer. Candidates should be able to efficiently plan and organize their workload with their team, demonstrate success working with a team of professionals, a commitment to quality, good communication skills, and a positive work ethic.

Responsibilities:

  • Candidate shall work on various aspects of electrical engineering design, plan preparation, permitting and construction oversight while working in a project team environment.
  • Candidate would contribute to projects including collecting existing utility data; performing modeling and simulation; distribution, transmission, substation, protection & controls.
  • Prepare project design drawings within MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
  • Develop project specific detail drawings.
  • Calculate project construction quantity estimates.
  • Assist with technical specifications, cost estimates, reports, schedules, and other related tasks.
  • Learn and adhere to client-specific standards.
  • Coordinate with team members and client representatives.
  • Periodic travel to project sites for field investigation and or construction support.
  • Project outlines, project initiation, project schedules, project executions, and project closeout.
  • Interface with multi-disciplinary design teams.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical or environmental engineering.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • 0 - 2 years of experience working for a firm in the A/E/C industry.
  • The expectation is that such candidate would be working towards becoming a Professional Engineer (P.E.)
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Strong sense of urgency, project responsibility and initiative
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply complex systems.
