Retail Stocker

A retail stocker, also known as a stock clerk or inventory clerk, is responsible for ensuring that stock shelves are filled and organized so that staff can find what they're looking for. Their duties include:
- Receiving and unloading: Receiving goods, unloading trucks and deliveries
- Stocking and maintaining supplies for sales staff and/or store function. Putting products on shelves and in storage areas
- Moving merchandise out in an organized and timely matter while communicating with sales team as to what is needed
- Inventory: Counting inventory, verifying product counts
- Pricing: Adding price tags to items, hanging and steaming
- Cleaning: Keeping retail and storage areas clean, vacuuming, dusting, etc
Some qualifications for a retail stocker job include:
- Ability to lift heavy items
- Good organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
