Position Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Logistics Coordinator. The Logistics Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of installation materials and products from the production facility to the installation site.

This position requires a proactive and collaborative individual who can navigate the complexities of logistics to meet construction schedule demands and uphold our commitment to excellence. This position also requires an innovative, resourceful, and passionate mindset to offer ideas for continuous improvement and contribute to a modern and efficient logistics management system.

Responsibilities:

  • Communication: Collaborate with internal teams and trucking brokers, to provide timely updates on shipment statuses and address any inquiries from installation teams, production leads, or project management related to logistics.
  • Coordination of Shipments: Schedule freight shipments with carriers and/or logistics brokers to deliver shipments of millwork, and installation tools or supplies.
  • Shipment Coordination: Plan, coordinate, and monitor the transportation of materials and finished products to meet delivery schedules while ensuring compliance with all local and federal logistics regulations. This includes assessing the schedule and the status of the intended items for shipment to determine the method of delivery. (Overnight, Two-day, FTL, Sprinter Van, etc)
  • Logistics System Development: Maintain and assist with developing and updating the shipment database to ensure the status of items to be shipped, items that are ready to ship, and items that have been shipped is accurate and easy to reference by production leads, installation superintendents, and project management.
  • Documentation: Prepare shipment lists that define what items are included in the shipment while also showing what items were unable to make it on the shipment in time.
  • Problem Resolution: Proactively identify and address any logistics-related issues or delays to effectively mitigate issues. This includes determining when shipping team needs to work special hours as well as coordinating with production for additional assistance to pack and load trucks within a reasonable time.
  • Team Leadership: Coordinate and direct the daily tasks of the shipping team including wrapping product, loading shipments, unloading deliveries, and maintaining a clean and organized shipping area.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in logistics coordination within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the millwork or construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics processes, transportation modes, and logistics regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience managing a team of at least three members.
  • Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in the millwork or cabinetry industry a plus.
