The Liquid Paint Operator prepares and applies liquid coatings to parts made from sheet metal and plate, they are responsible to clean, mask, and paint parts in a safe and efficient manner.
Typical responsibilities
- Clean and mask parts prior to paint, assure no weld splatter and laser oxide
- Identify defects such as cracks, splits, poor welds for repair
- Select and use appropriate application tools according to paint characteristics
- Apply liquid paint according to manufacturer recommendations
- Inspect part for paint defects and repair any defects before releasing part from area
- Maintain tools used for painting tasks
- Other responsibilities as required and assigned.
