Job Description Overview: We are currently looking for a Licensed Acupuncturist with great energy and impeccable business ethics to join our team in Livermore, CA and/or Alameda, CA. This is a unique role where you will be able to provide both 1:1 care and possibly Community Acupuncture to Dao Integrated Health patients. You will be foundational in shaping our wellness offerings and patient care.

Qualifications:

  • 1-4 years of experience as a Licensed Acupuncturist
  • Strong academic & applied background in Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Cupping, Moxibustion, and TCM Nutrition Principles
  • Possesses a working knowledge and understanding of TCM Herbal medicines, supplements, and contraindications and/or pharmaceutical combinations to ensure safe compliance with herbal medicines and supplements.
  • Reliable, Punctual, Team Oriented, and Strong attention to details.
  • Ability to counsel and educate others
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills with peers, patients/families, multidisciplinary team members
  • Seeks excellence in providing quality patient care
  • Open to training on Acupuncture techniques for immune-compromised patients.
  • Ability to solve problems & make decisions through critical thinking process
  • Excellent time management skills to keep patient appointments on time and complete required patient treatment notes daily.
  • Ability to work productively with people who have both similar and different backgrounds
  • Computer skills including the ability to learn and effectively use the computerized clinical information and documentation systems used at Dao Integrated Health
  • Must be able to fluently speak, read and write English.

Education & Licensing:

  • Must be a Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of California, with an unrestricted license
  • Successful completion of the Acupuncture examination administered by the State of California Acupuncture Board
  • Completion of a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and/or Chinese Medicine/Oriental Medicine required
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Maintenance of continuing education: maintains an active license by meeting the requirements of State of California Acupuncture Board & focuses professional development in areas relevant to job assignment and career goals.
  • ACCAOM certification - a bonus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding and delivering on the documentation requirements of billing insurance.
  • Has experience with Insurance level SOAP Note documentation preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of Google Suite and Mac applications.
  • Janeapp knowledge is a strong plus, but not required.
  • Experience with Japanese Acupuncture and Moxibustion Techniques a plus.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Review patient's medical history, physical findings, and diagnosis to ascertain symptoms or disorder to be treated.
  • Take a detailed case history during initial acupuncture appointments, which may involve questioning patients about their physical and emotional health history, lifestyle, and diet.
  • Provide an accurate diagnosis, supported by medical findings based on standardized examination and techniques generally accepted by the medical community. This includes TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and Western diagnostic techniques.
  • Explain diagnosis and treatment to the patient and respond to their questions and concerns.
  • Treat by inserting fine needles, of various lengths, into the skin at locations to stimulate the energy flow along meridians (energy channels) and the body’s own healing response.
  • Incorporate other treatments, such as moxibustion, electro-acupuncture, acupressure, and cupping.
  • Provide medically necessary acupuncture, consults, assessments, and treatments
  • Provide quality treatment to relieve the medical condition causing the patient's complaint.
  • Document all treatments and patient's response to acupuncture therapy on patient's chart.
  • Combine patient education and hands-on care in comprehensive 60-minute visits.
  • Perform other job duties or projects as required by manager, such as cleaning cups after use.
  • Actively promote the clinic and services.

Schedule: Part-time growing to Full-Time

• Weekday (Monday's, Wednesday's Friday's) and Weekday Evenings (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evenings; typically between 5:00 - 8:30pm as scheduled by Patients

• Weekends All Day: Saturdays - as Scheduled by Patients
