Job DescriptionJob Description

CVP is currently recruiting Interventional Radiologists to provide coverage of existing staff and deliver onsite services to eligible beneficiaries of the Atlanta VA Medical Center located at 1670 Clairmont Road, Decatur, Georgia 30033. Shift scheduling is generally Mon-Fri, day tour and including on-call hours, weekends and holidays. Primary and Locum Tenens positions with generous compensation packages are available.

Normal Clinic Hours: 7:30am – 4:30pm

On call: On-call hours are from 4:30pm to 7am on weekdays and 24 hours during the weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and holidays.

Annual leave coverage: There will be a 10-day advanced notification when annual leave coverage is needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care in interventional radiology, moderate sedation, and fluoroscopy including triage, pre-procedure and post-procedure care.
  • Assist in the drafting of standard operating procedures.
  • Reviews imaging requests and consults and directs scheduling priorities.
  • Provide on-call services for interventional radiology.
  • Ensures pre and post technical oversight and feedback for the technologists and nurses involved in performing procedures.
  • Administrative/supervision of all drugs as needed for the performance interpretation of imaging examinations.
  • On-call physicians must be available at all times for phone consultations with VA residents and physicians.
  • On-call providers must be available within 15 minutes by phone and on-site within 60 minutes.

Qualifications:

  • ACR Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiology.
  • Active, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
  • NPI report printout.
  • Active DEA license.
  • Current ACLS and BLS or willing to obtain prior to start.
  • Must be able to pass a federal background investigation.

All candidates must be able to:

  • Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist.
  • Lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force.
