Job Summary:
The Production Engineer will be responsible for optimizing production processes in a dynamic manufacturing and kitting environment. This role involves overseeing the planning, coordination, and control of manufacturing processes to ensure goods are produced efficiently, cost-effectively, and meet the required quality standards. The Production Engineer will work closely with operations, quality, and maintenance teams to improve workflows, troubleshoot equipment issues, and implement new technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

- Process Improvement & Optimization

- Analyze existing manufacturing and kitting processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost, and quality.

- Implement lean manufacturing techniques (5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen) to reduce waste and improve workflow.

- Develop and maintain standardized work instructions and ensure compliance by production teams.

Production Planning & Workflow Management:

- Collaborate with operations to design production schedules that optimize line utilization and labor efficiency.

- Ensure that the kitting process is streamlined, tracking each kit from components to finished product.

- Monitor production metrics (cycle times, productivity rates, downtime) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

_ Equipment & Technology Management:

- Recommend and implement new technologies or productivity tools to enhance utilization.

Quality Assurance:

- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to implement and maintain quality control measures.

- Troubleshoot production issues related to defects or equipment malfunctions, ensuring minimal disruption to output.

- Conduct root cause analysis on production problems and work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.

Safety & Compliance:

- Ensure production processes comply with safety and environmental regulations.

- Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions to address potential hazards.

- Train staff on safety protocols and proper equipment operation.

Documentation & Reporting:

- Maintain accurate documentation of production processes, and work instructions.

- Generate reports on production performance and recommend actionable insights for improvement.

- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including output, quality, and downtime.

_ Collaboration & Leadership:_

- Work with cross-functional teams including production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain to align on production goals.

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to production staff on process improvements.

- Support the operations team in troubleshooting and resolving daily production issues.

_ Qualifications:

_ Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

_ Experience:

- Minimum of 0-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or kitting environment.

- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

Technical Skills:

- Experience in AutoCAD or similar design programs.

- Strong understanding of production environment and line balancing.

- Familiarity with quality assurance practices and root cause analysis.

Soft Skills:

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

_ Preferred Skills:

- Certification in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) is a plus.

Working Conditions:

- This role may require standing or walking on the production floor for extended periods.

- Regular interaction with production staff.

- May require occasional weekend or off-shift work based on production needs.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
