Must have:

•                                    Industries - One or more of: Semiconductor, Life Sciences, Building Automation, Food and Beverage, Water Treatment, and general manufacturing

•                                    PLC-5 to ControlLogix conversions

•                                    In-depth understanding of Emerson DeltaV platform

•                                    PLC hardware/software platforms such as Rockwell Automation, Siemens, and Modicon.

•                                    HMI/SCADA hardware/software platforms such as Servers, VM’s, Networks, Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk and Plant Pax, Aveva System Platform and Edge, Inductive Automation Ignition, GE iFIX, Siemens Winn CC, and TI Portal.

•                                    DCS hardware/software platforms such as Emerson DeltaV or similar

•                                    Instrumentation

•                                    Networking – ethernet, etc,

•                                    Lead projects as a Project Manager (PM) but not a full-blown PM, this is a hands-on project engineering role

•                                    Client interactive experience

•                                    Batch/Recipes, OEE, MES, and ERP systems

•                                    Travel up to 25%, mostly local to the Dallas area

Nice to have:

•                                    AutoCAD

•                                    PMP certification

•                                    Semiconductor

•                                    Design of electrical schematics, and control panels including power distribution under 480VAC, and associated NEC references

Job Description: Controls Engineer

 

Responsibilities:

•            Deliver innovative automation solutions and design standards either self-directed or as a leader of a team.

•            Conceptualize, detail, and implement control systems for industrial processes and machinery that meet customer requirements.

•            Develop control system architecture, select components, detail schematic diagrams and system documentation.

•            Program controllers (PLC, DCS/Delta V) and process visualization (HMI/SCADA).

•            Develop databases for archiving/displaying historical system data.

•            Implement and commission control systems at client facilities.

•            Knowledge of controller programming languages such as Ladder, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text, and others to achieve desired results.

•            Knowledge of standard programming languages such as VBA, .NET, SQL, and Python for HMI/SCADA systems development is preferred.

•            Design, detail, and implement a variety of industrial networking systems (fiber, wired, wireless) using industrial protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, etc.)

•            Perform project management responsibilities: develop project execution plans, work breakdown structures, and associated budgets, prioritize and schedule tasks, track and report time and financials, identify problems early, resolve conflicts, lead and support a team, and attend project status meetings.

•            Oversee daily operations and activities of projects up to $10M, ensuring overall project profitability.

•            Act as technical lead on projects and guide lower-level engineers and technicians; could also act as Project Manager on smaller projects.

Qualifications:

•            Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

•            Experience: Over 8 years with capabilities in the following areas:

•            In-depth understanding of Emerson DeltaV platform.

•            Experience in PLC-5 to ControlLogix conversions.

•            Understanding of PLC hardware/software platforms (Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Modicon).

•            Understanding of HMI/SCADA hardware/software platforms (Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk, Plant Pax, Aveva System Platform, Inductive Automation Ignition, GE iFIX, Siemens Winn CC, TI Portal).

•            Understanding of DCS hardware/software platforms such as Emerson DeltaV or similar.

•            Project management experience; PMP certification is a plus.

•            Understanding of Batch/Recipes, OEE, MES, and ERP systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION: Seeing, color perception, hearing, clear speech, dexterity in hands, driving, lifting, ability to mount/dismount equipment, pushing and pulling.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Standard office environment, on-site office environment, diverse industrial environments, frequent use of a personal computer, facsimile/copy machines, and phones.
