Jones-Hamilton Co., a leader in chemical manufacturing, is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join our team. This role supports inbound and outbound logistical operations, helping to optimize inventory levels, manage transportation activities, and reduce costs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the scheduling and dispatch of trucks and railcars for chemical transportation, ensuring timely deliveries to customers.
  • Generate reports on key logistics metrics, including on-time delivery rates, carrier performance, and transportation costs. Provide insights to management.
  • Collaborate with logistics, production, and customer service teams to manage transportation schedules and inventory levels.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of logistics software systems to improve tracking and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain strong relationships with transportation vendors, negotiating rates and resolving service issues.
  • Manage railcar orders, including inbound/outbound switches for raw materials, HCl shipments, and railcar lease payments.
  • Ensure compliance with HazMat regulations, FDA, ISO, and safety protocols for chemical transportation.
  • Analyze logistics data to improve transportation efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of logistics experience, specifically in truck and rail transport of chemicals. Experience with hazardous materials (HCl) is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HazMat transportation regulations (DOT, OSHA), and experience with logistics software systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to solve logistical challenges efficiently.
  • HazMat certification or training (preferred).
  • Must pass a drug screening and be legally eligible to work in the United States.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with standard working hours; may require occasional flexibility to accommodate project timelines or urgent issues.
  • Primarily sedentary work involving prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or computer workstation.
  • Extensive use of computers and office equipment is essential.
