Nurse Practitioner Physicians Assistant

Our office is looking for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to preferably work on a full-time basis conducting new patient evaluations. (Note: We would consider applicants looking to work on a part-time basis, as well.)
The practice includes a 9 exam room clinic and an accredited ambulatory surgery center (ASC) located next door.
We seek an individual that is capable of using their medical training and clinical judgment to provide professional, responsive care to our patients in a manner that is in line with the clinic’s values and standards. In addition to the requisite education and training, we expect this individual to be highly motivated, responsible, and cordial.
We seek a provider that would only conduct new patient consultations and re-evaluations (30 minute time slots).

Established in 2002, we are a REFERRAL-ONLY based practice (NO walk-ins allowed). Prospective patients are screened before admittance to the clinic.
We have built strong relationships and maintain a stellar reputation with the medical community in Bakersfield and the surrounding areas.
The practice focuses on delivering the highest standard of care to improve outcomes, quality of life, functional capacity and comfort for patients who are suffering from chronic pain. The emphasis at the practice is diagnosing and treating patients' conditions for the purpose of achieving long-term results; as opposed to simply medicating their symptoms.
Our clinic is NOT a "pill-mill". Our healthcare providers believe in minimal reliance on oral pain medications in order to prevent long-term dependence. Our medication protocols are in compliance with CDC guidelines (less than 90 morphine milligram equivalents per day).
The clinic has an affiliated surgery center located in the suite next door. It is at this accredited ASC where patients from the clinic receive interventional pain management injections, as needed.
Our facilities are located in a highly desirable and affluent area of Bakersfield (check Google Maps). We do NOT have satellite offices that would require our providers to travel to multiple locations.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Education
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) program
OR
- Graduation from an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program
License, Certification, Registration
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Current California Nurse Practitioner (NP) Certificate
- Current certification from either the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
- Current furnishing number from the California Board of Registered Nursing
- Current DEA registration number
- Current CPR card (may be obtained within 6 months of hire)
OR
- Current California Physician Assistant license
- Current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Current DEA registration number
- Current CPR card (may be obtained within 6 months of hire)
Experience
- Minimum experience of 2 years in Pain Management, Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, and/or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation required
- Experience of 3+ years experience in Pain Management, Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, and/or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation preferred.
- Experience conducting new patient consultations and developing medical plans required
Other
- Must be proficient in spoken and written English
- Computer literate and good typing skills required
- EMR experience required
- Spanish is a plus
WORK SCHEDULE (Full-time)
- Monday-Friday / 8am-5pm (40 hour work week)
- Option available to work a 4 day/32 hours per week schedule (adjusted compensation)
- Note: We would consider applicants looking to work on a part-time basis, as well
- No evenings
- No weekends
- No travel required
- No on-call duties
- No hospital visits/rounds
