POSITION SUMMARY:

The Electronics Technician should be knowledgeable in process controls, DCS’s, PLC’s, Ethernet, profibus, pressure, flow, burner control, AC/DC motors, motor controls, wye delta starters, VFD, inverters, valves, troubleshooting wiring and controls issues, automation machines, substations.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Maintenance of the facility's electronics components, monitoring and control systems including electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

· Monitoring devices that control processes within the facility, calibration and tuning either manually or automatic using instruments as necessary. Periodic maintenance and calibration to ensure the instrumentation remains in good working condition.

· Lead and conduct troubleshooting to repair the machines when issues arise.

· Replace defective and/or install new instrumentation and electrical systems

 

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

· 2 years or more industrial experience with DCS’s, PLC’s, automation systems, etc.

· Experience with drive manufacturers: Siemens, Allen Bradley, Control Techniques

· PLC Knowledge is a plus

· Ability to test, calibrate, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic devices and equipment.

· Proficient at Single and Three Phase motors and motor control systems.

· Ability to install and troubleshoot PLC's, AC and DC Drives. Modify existing ladder logic as required for troubleshooting or improvement activities.

· Skilled in installing or replacing electrical switchgear, equipment, and devices.

· Knowledge in terminating power, control, and instrumentation wire and cable.

· Experienced with bending and installing rigid conduit.

· Ability to set up and pull wire and cable.

· Read blueprints, schematics and manuals to understand equipment and installation procedures.

· Sound written and oral communication skills

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment consists of those in a manufacturing facility. Temperatures may be hot/cold/warm. Operate, maintain, and work in close proximity to various power equipment, including, but not limited to forklifts, man-lifts, excavators, drills, saws, hydraulic tools and automatic machinery. May be noisy at times and in certain areas. Walk, stand, sit, kneel, climb stairs, bend, stoop, use manual finger dexterity, lift up to 50 lbs.
