Cafe Salad Maker

Position Overview:

Zuppardo’s Family Market, family owned and operated, has been a staple in the community for over 90 years, providing delicious food, great value and exceptional service.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Salad Maker to join our team This role is responsible for preparing fresh, delicious, and visually appealing salads and related dishes for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for healthy, quality ingredients, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Salad Preparation: Prepare a variety of salads, incorporating fresh produce, grains, and proteins while adhering to established recipes and portion sizes.
• Ingredient Handling: Properly wash, chop, and store fresh vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients, ensuring quality and freshness.
• Food Presentation: Arrange salads and sides attractively, with an eye for detail in both preparation and plating to maintain high presentation standards.
• Customer Service: Interact with customers in a friendly, positive manner, addressing any requests or dietary needs.
• Inventory Support: Assist in monitoring inventory levels and communicating supply needs to ensure all ingredients are available.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including regular cleaning of work surfaces and equipment, and adhere to all health and safety guidelines.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively with café team members and management to ensure a smooth, efficient, and positive dining experience for customers.

Qualifications:

• Previous food preparation experience preferred, particularly in a café or deli setting
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment

Essential Functions

• Ability to lift 50lbs

• Ability to walk or stand for up to eight hours
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, lift, reach, or climb as needed
• Ability to perform repetitive movement as needed
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures
• Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
