SpeechCom, Inc. is looking for a Special Education Teacher with a Moderate to Severe Services Credential (issued by the CTC) to serve a school district in Santa Clarita, CA for the 24/25 school year.
Details:

  • Pay - $55-$65/hour
  • Full time - 8 hour day, 40 hour week
  • Immediate start
  • Assignment is for the school year (through June 13, 2025)
  • Grade levels: K - 6th Grade

A special education teacher has the unique ability to instruct students with learning, emotional, and/or physical differences that require adaptations to the general education curriculum. Various subjects are adapted to meet the individual needs of each student and monitored continuously throughout the school year by the special education teacher. Students whose disabilities may impact access to the curriculum may benefit from the special education teacher instructing functional skills to integrate into the community socially and vocationally.


Requirements: EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in the educational field
Special Education Teaching credential issued by California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
Mod-Severe Services Credential issued by CTC


Duties

  • Assess students’ skills and determine their educational needs
  • Adapt general lessons to meet students’ needs
  • Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student
  • Plan activities that are specific to each student’s abilities
  • Teach and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one
  • Case management - Implement IEPs, assess students’ performance, and track their progress
  • Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students’ progress and goals
  • Discuss students’ progress with parents, other teachers, counselors, and administrators
  • Prepare and help students transition from grade to grade and from school to life outside of school

Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
