Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce high-quality parts and components. The CNC Operator will work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure that all parts meet specifications and are delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines, including mills, lathes, and routers, to perform machining operations.
Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine machine settings and tooling requirements.
Load materials and secure workpieces on the machine.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on CNC machines to ensure smooth operation.
Ensure that all machined parts meet the required quality standards by performing inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
Make adjustments to machine settings or tooling to maintain tolerances and optimize production efficiency.
Monitor the machine during operation to identify and resolve any issues, such as tool wear or machine malfunctions.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety guidelines and protocols.
Document work performed and any maintenance or machine adjustments made.
Collaborate with the production and quality control teams to ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or associate degree in machining or related field preferred).
Proven experience as a CNC Operator, CNC machinist, or similar role.
Strong understanding of CNC machines, tools, and their operations.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Proficiency in using measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.).
Basic knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software is a plus.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on precision and quality.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and technical issues.
Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations in a manufacturing environment.
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Physical stamina and dexterity to handle machinery, tools, and materials.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with multi-axis CNC machines.
Certification in CNC machining (e.g., NIMS or equivalent).
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement initiatives.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position, with potential overtime depending on production demands.
Work in a manufacturing or machine shop environment, with exposure to noise, heat, and industrial equipment.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) required, including safety glasses, ear protection, and gloves.
