Job Title: Machinist III (1st Shift)

Client: Medical Device Manufacturing Company

Duration: 4 months

Location: Waltham, MA 02453

Shift: 1st Shift (5:30 AM to 2:00 PM)

Pay Range: USD 23.00 /hr - USD 26.00 /hr

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Degree or equivalent.
• 2 - 4 years of related experience.
• Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Experience working with manual lathes, mills, and presses.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Good manual dexterity.
• Computer skills and literacy are a plus.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Enjoy contributing to a diverse manufacturing group.
• Ability to embrace change.
• Team player.
• Highly organized, self-managed individual who works with minimum supervision.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments.

Responsibilities

• Plan assignments, layout setups, operate, and make tool adjustments for various types of manual machine shop equipment.
• Work from blueprints, process sheets, and sketches to perform production tasks, including cutting and shaping metals and plastics to precision dimensions.
• Communicate directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly.
• Check and inspect machining operations against specified tolerances.
• Identify and repair minor machine malfunctions.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
