PROMAN Staffing has partnered with a well-known manufacturer in Salem, VA.

We are now hiring CNC Machinist who are team players, versatile, and dependable

1st shift Hours: Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm (10 hours)

2nd shift Hours: Monday-Thursday 4:30pm-3:00am (10 hours)

Pay Rate: $24.50 per hour

CNC Machinist Job Summary

  • Follows process sheets for selecting and installing tooling, offsets, fixtures according to specifications to prepare machine for operation, use of engineering part drawings and process plans, performs first piece approval, uses precision measuring instruments to ensure machined items meet quality specifications, reports malfunctions of machining equipment and process deviations to appropriate personnel.
  • Responsible for the quality of work, which includes accurate counts and meeting production standards.
  • Looks for ways to improve the manufacturing process (new fixtures, tooling, combining operations etc.)
  • Checks cycle times, keeps work areas clean and in order, follows all company safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Depending on machines, may load work programs, take offsets, find zero.

CNC Set Up/Operator Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Five (5) years machining experience
  • Requires general knowledge of machining techniques and methods, along with setting up and operating machines effectively and the ability to receive and execute instructions.
  • Must be able to interpret engineering part drawings, use precision measuring equipment, and follow process sheets and demonstrate all safety precautions for operating named equipment.
