Job Purpose

The batcher helper is responsible for helping set up and operate equipment that mixes or blends ingredients used in the manufacturing of food products. Retrieve ingredients and weigh out per batch sheet.

Job Function
  • Record production and test data for each food product batch, such as the ingredients used, temperature, test results, and time cycle.
  • Follow recipes to produce food products of specified flavor, texture, clarity, bouquet, or color.
  • Set up, operate, and tend equipment that cooks, mixes, blends, or processes ingredients in the manufacturing of food products, according to formulas or recipes.
  • Mis or blend ingredients according to recipes, using a paddle or an agitator, or by controlling vats that heat and mix ingredients.
  • Select and measure, weigh ingredients, using metric measures and balance scales.
  • Operate, adjust, and regulate equipment such as beaters, extruders, discharge pipes, and pumps.
  • Observe gauges and thermometers to determine if the mixing chamber temperature is within specified limits and turn valves to control the temperature.
  • Observe and listen to equipment to detect possible malfunctions, such as leaks, or plugging, and report malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Learn to identify and segregate allergen and non-allergen products.
  • Learn and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Inspect vats after cleaning to ensure that fermentable residue has been removed.
  • Other duties as needed or required.

Work Content

Physical Demands

The employee will be on feet 100% of their shift. They are walking up to 100% of their shift, and will bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, lift items/equipment up to 50lbs. Body mechanics is crucial to meet the demand of the physical labor.
PPE Required:

Lab Coats, Food Handling Gloves as needed, Safety Glasses, Face shield as needed. Slip resistant Toe protectant non slip shoes required. Hard hats required.
Work Environment

Warehouse and production exposure will be expected. You may be exposed to fumes, temperature changes (hot, cold), loud noises, wet environment and moving mechanical parts and vibration.

1 years plus of experience in manufacturing/production.
