Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our team You will directly co-supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in preparing food.

Job Requirements:

-Able to work a flexible schedule to include days, nights, weekends and holidays.

-Workdays to be assigned as needed to include days of Post special events/activities.

-Be able to communicate and collaborate well with employees and customers.

-Assist in controlling expenditures related to restaurant areas.

-Prepare all foods as directed by the restaurant manager.

-Control food waste.

-Ensure that all products leave the kitchen cooked properly and as ordered and it's giving a palatable presentation.

-Keep all Prep and Cooking areas clean and clear of debris.

-Assist in the ordering of merchandise and inventory supplies related to kitchen and other areas of responsibility.

-Able to stand extended periods of time.

-Able to lift 50 Lbs.

-Assist in the management of restaurant personnel to include line cooks and servers.

-Train, motivate and schedule restaurant personnel to appropriate duties and shifts.

-Review timesheets for accuracy each week before forwarding to payroll.

-Assist in annual performance reviews on each employee's individual anniversary date and forward a copy to the Restaurant Manager.

-Assist in Maintaining Job Descriptions and bring any recommendations to the Restaurant. Manager.

-Instruct and train employees in kitchen and restaurant procedures, Point of Sale (POS) system and Legion policies and procedures.

-Work with the Events Coordinator on promotions & events if needed.

-Perform other assignments as required by the Commander or the 2nd Vice Commander.

 

Qualifications:

-High School Diploma or equivalent.

-Post Secondary education in a culinary trade (preferred, not required).

-Able to read, write and speak English and communicate and work well with others.

-3 to 5 years Cooking Experience Preferred.

-Private Club Experience Preferred.

-Current Delaware Driver's License.

-Use of Computer to include Point of Sales System, Merchandise Ordering Applications, E-Mail and Calendar scheduling.
