We are looking for a competent and experienced CNC set-up and operator machinist. Under the general supervision of the Shop Forman, the CNC set-up and operator need to have general knowledge of Yama Seiki/Mori Seiki Lathes and Fadal Mills. Make general decisions as to quality, tolerances, and operation sequence. Essential Functions:

· Set up and operate CNC machines for turning, drilling, milling, etc.

· Consult with the programming department and Shop Foreman to determine the best machining steps and methods.

· Performing verification of part programs to ensure resultant data will produce the product to quality and customer requirements.

· It would be nice to have some understanding of Mastercam or its equivalent.

· Prepares work by reviewing and analyzing blueprints, specifications, other technical documents, and customer requests.

· Able to use Calipers/Micrometers/Height Gauges and other Inspection equipment.

· Interact daily with the Programming department and Shop Foreman.

· Prepare raw materials to load into the machines.

· Ability to take on technical challenges and deal with complexity.

· Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.

  • Must know CAD (Solid works Preferred) Use of a 2D or 3D programming software.
  • The duties and responsibilities described are not comprehensive, and additional tasks may occasionally be assigned to the employee. In addition, the job scope may change as necessitated by business demands.

Requirements

· Familiarity with Lathe machines.

· Able to adjust/offset the machines to make better results for end products.

· Completion of a technical trade school, or the equivalent of education and experience, or trade certification for General Machinist is preferred but not required.

· High School degree or GED Equivalent.

· HIGH attention to detail.

· Must be able to read and write English and follow verbal and written instructions.

· Analytical skills required – processing and reacting to vast amounts of data.

· ERP/MRP/PLM experience using E2 Shop is a plus.

· Must have a mechanical aptitude and prior machine shop experience is preferred.

· This position requires information or access to items subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., foreign person for whom a license is obtained), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate: North Hollywood, CA 91605: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work.
