JOB PURPOSE:

A general summary of responsibilities are to plan, organize and control the maintenance and budgets related to buildings, facilities and equipment, facility Engineering and the movement and installation of equipment and/or assembly lines. To direct the activities of the skill trades and outside contractors to ensure that facilities, equipment and tooling is fully operational, ensure completion of contracted projects (scope, budget and schedule) within assigned territory and other duties relative to assigned area of responsibility. Direct the activities of area supervisors to ensure timely, accurate delivery of services to meet customer and business requirements, to include preventive, predictive maintenance and planned repairs to equipment and facilities. Provide annual plans for department improvement activity both in controlling costs and improving department employee capability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan department annual Budget and Improvement Plan related to facilities, equipment, projects and tooling to meet customer and business requirements
  • Plan, schedule work performed by outside contractors as related to projects, preventative and predictive maintenance
  • Coordinate (scope of work, drawings, facility specifications and design) and supervise the movement and/or installation of equipment within assigned area
  • Maintain a system for collecting maintenance equipment repair history, and inventory of parts and materials for equipment and facilities repairs and operations
  • Continually assesses the performance of staff and the job skill base of all technical staffing and make annual plan for personnel performance level evaluation and training requirements
  • Responsible for staffing plan including plan, hiring and discipline
  • Documents departmental activity through preparation of various reports, work order system, computerized data collection system for equipment and tooling history, and other incidental record keeping as needed
  • Plan department procedures and work instructions required to meet requirements for IATF16949 and ISO14001 certification
  • Monitors performance of workforce to ensure adherence to industry standards and compliance with state, federal laws, regulations, and guidelines for electrical building safety. Establish standards for equipment designed by our parent company and provide a safe working environment.
  • Interacts with other managers and other customers to enhance performance and customer satisfaction
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures that support the pursuit of department strategic goals and objectives that are consistent with company policies ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the department

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Competencies and Experience

To perform the job successfully, an individual should have the following education, competencies and experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor degree in a technical discipline with 5 years working in a manufacturing environment, working with skilled trades and having a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and directly supervise skilled trades personnel both in equipment maintenance, die casting and injection molding tooling repair and machine shop disciplines
  • Knowledge of building, OSHA, electrical codes, other regulations and manufacturing machinery maintenance and repair practices
  • Knowledge of and ability to setup and maintain systems for preventative maintenance, equipment and tooling history, unplanned repairs and predictive maintenance
  • Ability to complete design layouts for equipment and facilities using Autocad and to write scope of work and specifications for new equipment installations, relocations and building renovations
  • Must have skills to develop training program and improve performance of the department personnel
  • Knowledge for developing annual budgets, and fiscal management
  • Good verbal and written communication skill and the ability to present effectively to others
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across departments and with outside contractors
  • Skill in the use of computers in a window-based operating environment and Microsoft software
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently handle multiple, simultaneous, and complex tasks and projects
  • Ability to setup and maintain an inventory system for repair components and manufacturing process materials to support quick response repairs in a high level uptime environment
