Billing and Collections Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing and Collections Specialist to join our team at SERVPRO Team Sepe in Binghamton, NY. 

Collections: Primary Responsibilities

• Monitor all accounts receivable and identify overdue accounts.
• Investigate historical data for debts and bills.
• Contact customers to obtain payments.  
• Process payments and refunds.
• Posting customer payments by recording checks, and credit card transactions
• Updating receivables by totaling unpaid invoices
• Maintaining records of invoices, debits, and credits
• Resolving collections by examining customer payment plans and payment history
• Keeping organized and detailed documentation of all correspondence with customers
• Handling customer disputes in regard to payments or invoicing
• Handling all Liens and documentation of such records
• Prepare and submit reports on collection activities and progress.

Billing: Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare and finalize invoices to customers and insurance carriers
• Review and audit field documentation
• Communicate and monitor status of projects wit project mangers
• Create and submit final billing documentation for invoicing
• To provide financial and administrative support by invoicing jobs in all departments
• Maintain and update records of invoices and receipts for each job file. 
• Manage the entire process of initial job invoicing all the way through accounts receivables

Position Requirements

• 2+ year(s) of experience with QuickBooks Pro® (most recent versions)
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills, including listening and questioning skills
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented
• Ability to multi-task
• Capability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented office environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to learn new software
• Associate Degree or higher
• 5+ Years Bookkeeping Experience

Compensation & Benefits

• Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m – 5 p.m., additional time as needed.
