Job Summary
The painter will be responsible to clean and paint a variety of parts and weldments using a paint spray gun with different colors for our industrial equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces of machinery for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers or sealers as necessary.
- Reads job orders, follows standards for colors (or special customer requirements) to clean and paint.
- Select appropriate paints or mix and blend colors to achieve required color and select coatings to achieve desired finish of specifications and requirements.
- Apply paint, enamel, or lacquer using spray guns while ensuring smooth and even coverage. Touch up paint as needed.
- Cleans parts thoroughly prior to painting with a pressure washer.
- Paints primer and then finish color coat on parts per standard specifications.
- Maintain and clean paint equipment daily to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct quality checks throughout painting process identifying any defects or imperfections.
- Follow all safety regulations when working with hazardous materials.
- Keep accurate records of materials used, paint colors, and project details for future reference.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of projects and production schedules are met.
- Keep work area neat, clean, and organized.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Proficient in using painting tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to detect and resolve paint issues.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Adhere to all industry safety standards
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing, sitting, bending and stretching to perform various job duties.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
