Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee our fleet operations in Rutherford, NJ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our vehicles, ensuring compliance with regulations, optimizing fleet performance, and leading a team of drivers and support staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fleet Operations Management:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the fleet, ensuring timely and efficient transportation services.
  • Develop and implement fleet maintenance schedules to ensure vehicle reliability and safety.
• Budgeting and Cost Control:
  • Prepare and manage the fleet budget, analyzing costs and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Monitor fuel usage and maintenance expenses, implementing strategies to optimize expenditures.
• Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding transportation and vehicle maintenance.
  • Implement and oversee safety programs, conducting regular safety training and inspections.
• Team Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of drivers and support staff, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
• Fleet Performance Analysis:
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess fleet efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Prepare regular reports on fleet performance, maintenance issues, and operational improvements.
• Vendor Management:
  • Liaise with vendors and service providers for vehicle maintenance, repairs, and procurement.
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements to ensure quality service and cost efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in fleet management or transportation logistics.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety compliance.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficient in fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
