IBH Addiction Recovery, founded in 1970, is a highly effective nonprofit organization and leading provider of drug and alcohol addiction treatment in Summit County. We provide evidence-based services including Residential Treatment, Day Treatment, Outpatient Programs, Aftercare support, and Recovery Housing, complemented by spiritual guidance, all intended to offer persons with alcohol and drug addiction, including those with a co-occurring mental health disorder, the opportunity to restore hope and gain skills for a lifetime of sobriety.

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Dietary Cook to help us meet the individualized needs of people in recovery and uphold those values.
Job Summary:
The cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, tasty meals according to a prescribed menu. The cook carries out routine kitchen responsibilities per departmental specifications under the guidance of the Food Service Manager.
Essential Job Duties:
- Responsible for preparing and serving all meals served during shift. Cleans up after meals.
- Responsible for cleaning of food preparation area and any other cleaning assignments by the Food Service Manager.
- Responsible for performing sanitation procedures assigned the Food Service Manager.
- Completes all assigned written reports, forms, and service reports in accordance with state and local governing bodies.
- Responsible for complying with and enforcing IBH dietetic policies and procedures.
- Prior approval is needed to make decisions regarding a menu substitution or other kitchen related exceptions as a circumstance and supplies dictate.
- Authority to supervise and utilize, as needed, clients during mealtimes (i.e. 30 min prior and after each scheduled meal)
- Responsible for supervising assigned clients in aspects of preparation and service of food during mealtimes according to departmental guidelines.
- Observes client’s dietetic behavior during meals reporting any abnormalities to the Food Service Manager.
- Responsible for attending all in agency in-services, training seminars as well as completing monthly computer training; participating in on and off property workshops, seminars, training sessions, etc. per IBH’s Staff Growth and Development Program guidelines.
- Responsible for managing and staying current with all online responsibilities (i.e. email, passwords, Paychex, etc.) without constant managerial oversight.
- Responsible for attending all departmental meetings.

Educational/Experience Requirements
- C.P.R. and First Aid Certification (must be obtained no later than the end of the 90 day probationary period or whenever the class is first offered; whichever comes first).
- Documented experience with meal preparation in an institution and/or restaurant setting.
- Ability to work independently and with other Food Service staff.
- Ability to supervise clients in a food service environment.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance stoop; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This position can be either Full-time or Part-time. There are 3 types of shifts throughout a 7 day week: 5a-1p, 9-5p, and 1-5p. You are required to work between 24-28 hours a week which includes weekends and holidays.
Work Environment
This job operates in a healthcare setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations within the agency so as the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
