Job Function:

The Electrical / Mechanical Maintenance tech: is responsible for maintaining production equipment, house utilities, general building and ground equipment, threw a proactive PM program on a CMMS* (Computerized Maintenance Management Software) Duty’s include responding to break down calls, project fabrication, equipment installs and upgrades.

General Duties:

  • Exercise protective measures all employees are trained on as example Lock-out tag-out and fall protection to ensure one’s safety and the safety of others
  • Completing preventive maintenance requirements on assigned production equipment using knowledge of motors, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems and electrical systems to proactively asses ware item conditions and the need for replacement and/or repair.
  • Observe Production Equipment in operation listen for problems, and validate any concerns using meters, calipers, and other precision and testing tools.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hand and power tools; examine and asses defective parts for replacement, rebuild or repair
  • Adjust and align production equipment for optimum performance by using hand tools, meters, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Fabricate repair parts by using in house machine shop, welders, and other equipment.
  • Help Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking out stock using the correct documentation
  • Anticipate needed equipment, parts, and supplies. Provide purchasing agent with complete and accurate descriptions, part #s, along with date and time of need expected need.
  • Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Build and Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.
  • Documents daily hours by entry into a CMMS, as well as communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to relieving shift co-workers.
  • Assists with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions.
  • Ensures all maintenance and repair activities are in compliance with OSHA, Federal, Local and plant safety standards.
  • Investigate repeated equipment failure and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation practices, design flaws, or lacking preventive maintenance coverage and make recommendations to correct.


Candidate Requirements:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.

· Strong Mechanical aptitude with a general dexterity in using hand and power tools

  • Must be able to work off hours
  • Must be able to work weekends
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Basic understanding of Safety procedures
  • Flexibility and adaptability and ability to focus and pay attention to detail
  • Must be able to lift 50 LBs

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ Years in a industrial manufacturing environment as a maintenance tech
  • 2+ Years of Mechanical experience with a general understanding of common components including hydraulic and pneumatic control trouble shooting and repair
  • 2+ Years of Electrical experience with a general understanding of common components including 3 phase motor trouble shooting, frequency drives, solenoids, and PLC I/O
