About the Job:
We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Manager to ensure that all payroll processes are executed appropriately and in a timely manner. The Payroll Manager will operate as the subject matter expert and escalation point to resolve issues and continuously look for improvements in operational processes, designing and implementing those initiatives. This role involves optimizing the contribution of the team through coaching and counseling, implementing workable solutions to business issues, and managing effective internal/external client relationships within the area of responsibility.
Responsibilities:
•Manage and supervise all activities necessary to process payroll, including maintaining related records, filing tax reports, processing involuntary deductions, preparing accounting transactions and documents, documenting and updating procedures, and preparing special reports for senior management.
•Conduct work planning, estimation, and prioritization to optimize team performance.
•Define standards and reusable approaches for payroll operations.
•Manage a team of payroll practitioners.
•Direct and develop staff, collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals, and provide service excellence.
Education:
•Associate's degree or equivalent required. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
•Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
•Minimum of 8 to 10 years of payroll experience.
•Minimum of 3 to 5 years of managing a team of payroll specialists
•Recent enterprise resource planning, payroll implementation, and upgrade experience preferred.
•Experience with Oracle payroll systems preferred.
•Previous experience with UKG/Kronos Timekeeping Systems preferred.
•Three years of leadership experience preferred.
•Experience in a union-based environment is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
•Ability to effectively manage team members and organize work activities.
•Strong coaching/mentoring skills and problem-solving abilities.
•Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
•Ability to function as a liaison among staff, physicians, administration, and ancillary departments.
•Professional attitude, sound judgment, and maturity in job performance.
•Ability to adapt to a changing environment and support multiple divisions.
•Some knowledge of tax reciprocity rules and regulations.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Pay Details: $110,000.00 to $125,000.00 per year
