Clinical Director

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced clinician interested in overseeing our clinical staff, clinical community partnerships, and programs. Fernandez Community Center’s mission is to improve the quality of mental health and substance abuse services by reducing stigma and by protecting the rights of the individual who suffers from mental illness and/or substance abuse. General Description of Position: The primary responsibilities of the Clinical Director are to actively participate in clinical design, development, and support launch of pilots/proof of concepts and planning focused on improvement of health outcomes including increasing the likelihood of desired outcomes and reducing health disparities among specified population. This is a highly collaborative role, collaborating with information, analytics and key metrics to understand results and define areas of opportunity advancing the performance of our programs and services. Overseeing therapists/practitioners; creating, tracking and reporting KPI’s and performance metrics; create, define, and document SOPs; track and report on service utilization and clinical outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Work closely and collaboratively with the Executive Director to ensure high quality clinical services and to develop innovative clinical programs and community partnerships.
• Oversee the day-to-day clinical operations and assist in all critical situations or clinical emergencies
• Monitor clinical staff workloads/assignments and maintain an individual caseload based on agency needs
• Provide leadership, clinical supervision, coaching, and mentoring to staff and interns, fostering a culture of excellence in patient care
• Monitor documentation and oversee clinical care to ensure regulatory standards and/or contractual requirements are met
• Monitor Medicaid requirements and maintain Medicaid eligibility for the center
• Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
• Interview potential staff and coordinate their orientation and training
• Demonstrate respectful, supportive leadership that increases the success and cohesiveness of the team
• Maintain a positive, ethical, and professional working relationship with community, government agencies, and other professionals
• Maintain an active North Carolina license
• Perform other duties as requested
Qualification/Education/Experience:
- Outpatient and or multi-specialty group/practice experience
- A Master’s or PHD degree in a field related to health, psychology, sociology, social work, nursing or other relevant human services area and 3+ years proven experience working directly with individuals with behavioral health conditions.
- Experience working with Medicaid funded programs.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment when making decisions.
- Leadership qualities that inspire trust, respect, and motivation among staff members.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with clinical staff and patients.
- Problem solving skills when resolving administrative issues and conflicts.
- Detailed knowledge of policies and regulations in the clinical field
- Strong analytical skills for assessing performance metrics and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to delegate and supervise tasks as required.
- Good understanding of budget and resources planning budgeting in addition to evaluation procedures and methods
